My god, Dave that sounds so traumatic. WTAF? Sending you what little support is possible through this app. And maybe it will be nice to know that I used the video of your poem ‘The Joy of Herbie, the Painted Allotment Shed’ in a workshop not long ago and the group loved it (so did I). Take care mate x
I'm sorry you had to go through this Dave. Sorry to say I've been there many times over now. It's not just pain that's ignored it's every symptom that isn't something life threatening and, importantly, acute. I.e. something "fixable". This is the reality of chronic illness.
Don't let the Labour party trick you into thinking that what they are continuing to do to sick and disabled people and the national health service is purely a product of what they've inherited from the Tories. Where is the Renters Reform we were promised? Instead we have extensive reform of PIP and Universal Credit proposed that, amongst other bullshit, will disqualify many disabled people from recieving a benefit that was never meant to be related to ability to work, rather meant to cover the unavoidable expenses that come with being disabled whether you work or not.
Starmer is bad but oh believe me Wes Streeting scares me more than even Johnson and Truss combined. The NHS is not safe under the current Labour government and certainly not under Streeting. The current proposals for PIP show that.
This makes me want to cry X I know others who have been assaulted by doctors then dismissed and ignored by staff. my heart breaks and I wish I could do likewise to that dr's knees. X
Dave, I’m so sorry. I’m sending all the love and hope you get well soon. I hope this makes you feel better, not worse but there are amazing NHS people out there who I or my family have personally been treated by and I just hope that you experience some of them if you need them again and it restores your faith and sense of security xx I’m here if I can help xx I have the best specialist team you could wish for, unfortunately you’d have to get my genetic lung disorder to access them but I hope it helps a bit to know there are amazing people out there xx I’m so sorry you had this traumatic experience
Absolutely- all the cuts and trauma of recent years, pandemic etc , it’s gotta do something bad to people, traumatise them, desensitise them, and then some of them sadly pass on that trauma - I’m so sorry Dave

Oh that's lovely to hear. I'd forgotten about that poem. I'm glad it's still got a life. Which group was it?
It was an art and poetry project we did at Dorothy Parkes Centre in Smethwick. They have an allotment too so it was perfect :)

Oh yeah, I appreciate the great staff are there. I'm just worried about the not so great staff and what all these cuts have done to people.
Why can't we just vote for nice people?
